CentraleSupélec: driving the ecological transition

CentraleSupélec’s mission is to train engineers capable of understanding the challenges of the 21st century, one of which is sustainable development. To this end, the School deploys a comprehensive teaching and research program to equip its students with the appropriate knowledge, tools, questioning skills and initiatives.

CentraleSupélec‘s objective is to develop innovative scientific projects around Sustainable Development by involving teachers, students, researchers and staff.

CentraleSupélec acts for sustainable development

The mapping established by the school has shown that are already present in the curriculum:

  • Approximately 30 hours of training for all on sustainable development issues
  • Practical Engineer’s Workshop and the Fresque du Climat
  • Lectures by Valérie Masson-Delmotte (IPCC)
  • Dedicated sessions of common Management and Economics courses, etc.

In addition, there are already :

  • 7 sustainable development-oriented projects
  • 45% of the thematic sequences in the new engineering curriculum address these issues.
  • 30% of students can devote more than half of the volume of their curriculum to courses related to Sustainable Development since the start of the 2019 academic year.

To coordinate and develop all these initiatives, Pascal Da Costa, a teacher-researcher at the school and co-director of the Business Science Department, has been appointed as the Sustainable Development Coordinator at CentraleSupélec.

A collective commitment

To meet this growing demand for resources to be deployed to achieve the ecological transition, everyone is invited to act at his or her own level, in his or her sector of activity. At the CentraleSupélec Foundation, thanks to our donors, we have created a special fund to finance the School’s Sustainable Development projects.

This fund is already used to finance some of the initiatives undertaken in the new engineering curriculum, research laboratories and eco-responsible projects on campus: training at La fresque du climat, support for Tech for Good student projects, conferences, the responsible engineer forum, etc.

To support the ecological transition at CentraleSupélec, the Foundation invites you to make a donation.

You too can support the School's research!

In 2020, the Foundation devoted €1.1 million to CentraleSupélec’s research, which, as in previous years, has distinguished itself by its excellence on the world scientific scene, with 750 A-rank publications. Together, let’s strengthen its power of innovation.
